Queste applicazioni rispondono alle esigenze particolari in tema di riscaldamento che i veicoli elettrici hanno quando la temperatura esterna diminuisce. Infatti, i propulsori a energia alternativa sviluppano un calore di scarto insufficiente per riuscire a riscaldare in modo efficace. Per risolvere questo problema Eberspächer offre i riscaldatori a biocarburante o quelli elettrici.
I riscaldatori ad aria Airtronic e quelli ad acqua Hydronic possono entrambi funzionare fino al 100 per cento con un combustibile ecosostenibile come il bioetanolo. In questo modo producono calore senza scaricare la batteria e la carica viene preservata per il funzionamento del motore. Grazie alla combustione senza fumi del bioetanolo, i riscaldatori hanno emissioni al di sotto del 90 per cento dei limiti di legge. Inoltre consumano poco: in media richiedono solo tra 0,4 e 0,5 litri di bioetanolo per ora.
I riscaldatori elettrici ausiliari ad alta tensione (PTC) funzionano senza carburante e senza un serbatoio supplementare. Per questo motivo, richiedono poco spazio e possono essere facilmente integrati in diversi veicoli. I riscaldatori PTC sono progettati per tensioni fino a 500 Volt e sono disponibili in diversi livelli di potenza. Mentre i riscaldatori PTC ad aria sono integrati direttamente nel sistema di ventilazione, quelli ad acqua - per esempio in veicoli con trazione ibrida o range extender - possono essere facilmente inseriti nel circuito dell'acqua di raffreddamento del motore.

These applications satisfy the special demands on heating by electric vehicles when the outside temperatures drop. As a matter of fact, the highly efficient alternative drives develop too little or no waste heat to be able to heat effectively. To solve this problem Eberspächer has developed innovative heating systems.
The Hydronic water and Airtronic air heaters can both be refueled up to 100 percent with environmentally-friendly bioethanol. They produce heat while barely draining the battery. In this way, the capacity is retained for the drive. Thanks to the soot-free combustion of bioethanol, the heaters lie about 90 percent below the legal emission limits. Furthermore, they are extremely fuel-efficient: on average, they require only between 0.4 and 0.5 liters of bioethanol per hour.
Electric high voltage PTC heaters work without fuel and without an additional tank. For this reason, they require little space and can easily be integrated in different vehicles. The PTC heaters are designed for voltage ranges of up to 500 Volt and are available in various performance levels. While high voltage air heaters are connected directly to the ventilation system, high voltage water heaters – for example in vehicles with a hybrid drive or range extender – can be easily integrated in the water circuit of the engine.
